You do not have to watch it!

Every time I see these kinds of posts, I have to wonder--did your books disappear?

The movie ruined nothing. The books are exactly as they were when you read them. OK, maybe you didn't like the movie, and that's fine--but that doesn't mean they ruined anything.

My seven year old child loves this movie and has asked if I'll start buying her the books. Based on that alone, the movie succeeded.

But above that, it's cute, it's smart, and it's well-cast and well-acted. Clearly you disagree, and that's cool--but don't assume that your opinion is the only one that matters.
