Disingenuous

This film is disingenuous.

There was no famine in the Ukraine in the early 1930s. There was however the Holodomor genocide by the Soviet government of the Ukrainian people. While the Soviet government were starving millions of Ukrainians to death, they were exporting tons of Ukrainian grown grain to the west.

The film has a Czech director who ought know better, there is no excuse for him whitewashing the Soviet's crimes.

The opening screen relates that Stalin was to blame. No whitewashing.
