Did Teddy set Wallace up?

I know this may seem far-fetched (even for this movie), but does anyone else suspect that Teddy's video was fake, that the funeral was fake, and that Teddy planted the notice in the bathroom knowing that Howard would mutilate Wallace? Teddy seemed sympathetic to Ally and he didn't even answer the phone in the bathroom when Wallace called him.
