As a Canadian myself, I thought Depp was hilarious!

I found the movie to be pretty boring until Johnny Depp showed up. Justin Long's character was so horrible that I was routing for the villain anyway! Some say his accent is bad, but I know plenty of people here that talk just like that. I also know many who don't. Depp changed the tone of the film, and that made watching it much easier for me.

I stay in Canada every summer for my whole life and the stereotypes were stupid and simple minded. The only entertaining part of the movie was Johnny Depp.
Other than that I was bored stiff while viewing. The film was not funny or scary.

He was pretty funny.
His character was a caricature of a French Canadian, talking about
"okey players" and "Dubble Dubble wit eight sugars".
Good to see Depp in a wacky role.
