First Time

watching, I'd been put off by all the bad reviews.

It's much better than I'd heard. I was a teenager when Evil Dead and ED2 came out, and this definitely has a Raimiesque vibe about it.

In fact, it's like Raimi and Tarantino had a baby, and that baby grew up to make this film. (The Tarantino vibe I get from the dialogue, especially extended conversations and monologues.

No, it's not Citizen Kane. But it's a great film in terms of what it was aiming for.
