Not that I mind, but does anyone know why they chose to make Maria's the main story line?

Drama...the custody part and the out of control kids.
shareIt's because she lived the longest of all the patients. Maria plugged along for a full 8 months from the time they began filming to the time she passed away. The others were gone anywhere from a few days to 8 weeks after they began to film. They had way more footage and way more of a story in Maria than in the others. It was a logistical and practical descision.
share^^Yeah I figured that by the third or fourth episode. Even though there were a couple of people who died around the same time (and even in the same month) as Maria it seemed she was the one they were able to be with the longest.
It makes me wonder though if or when they decide to do a season 2, how that will play out.
