Maria's death was suspect

All of the deaths were the same where the people went through the dying stages, and the last stage which is called actively dying usually takes a few days and thats when you see the gaping mouth and the apnea type breathing.
Maria never seemed to go these stages and I'm sure she wasn't left alone for like a week or 2, so how was she able to skip the active dying phase?
I got the immediate feeling that either she staged her death for the camera as the doc crew was running out of time and had to wrap things up, or she committed suicide by taking an OD of her pain and anxiety meds.
Why was her death so different than all the other deaths shown?
Something wasn't right in that one.

It's possible that she ended her life to spare the future suffering, or it's possible that the stress on her from the illness, medications and other treatments caused her sudden death. The latter does happen.

The one thing I'm absolutely sure of is that she did not stage her death for the camera crew. This wasn't the type of doc in which that sort of thing would happen.

I thought that it may have been the first idea, and that the reason it was a surprise to Nicole is that her mother didn't tell her to avoid the stress of knowing it was coming.

Whatever the case, I think it was a blessing in disguise because it kept her from suffering and her children having to witness that suffering.

I have to agree with your opinion.

What do you mean? All of the symptoms of actively dying could have occured while she was alone in her room. Just because you didn't see it doesn't mean it didn't happen; people die in their sleep all the time.

I've never fooled anyone. I've let people fool themselves.
