Really weird costume choices

Did anyone else feel that the costumes for the main girls were really out there, even for Disney standards? I know that they were supposed to be quirky brainiacs, who were set apart from their peers due to their intelligence and drive. But their outfits were so strange... very unusual dresses, with strange silhouettes and patterns. Topped with clashing and bold jackets, etc. Nevaeh had a fairly normal wardrobe however.

No, I thought they had typical nerd outfits for girls.

I agree, the costumes weren't very nerd-friendly. Mae wore heels a lot of the time, whereas Gabby dressed part-rock girl, part-Goth, part-somehing else...

Maybe it had something to do with them being more than just nerds. There seemed to be a little confusion about the stereotypes they were using - especially since Mae was a great artist and a not half-bad singer.
