Does this suffer the Deadwood problem?

The constant repetition of '*beep*" and waiting for the next inevitable "*beep*" totally destroyed any chance of following the story, caring about the characters or understanding what the, pardon, "*beep*" was going on. Sometimes, if artistic gloss comes in the way of storytelling, the gloss needs to go.

What an interesting comment...

I didn't detect/notice any swearing at all. Did I? Hmmmmm. There may have been something.

Are you sure you were watching this show? Ready to be proved wrong, but am puzzled.

reply

I don't recall a barrage of swearing, either. That is certainly a curious OP...

reply

I didn't hear any swearing either. And if I had I wouldn't care anyway.

reply

I heard just one crude reference to what might be politely termed "the outside facilities". Or I think I did. I was one of many struggling to make/work out the dialogue.

reply

Perhaps the reference to *bleep* here has more to do with the thread author's outbursts at the BBC audio department, than anything in the script

If the use of profanity really causes you to have no ability to care about characters, I have no idea how you function in the modern world. Or would have functioned in the world of Deadwood. Good luck with your limitations.

reply

Firstly, the OP is asking if there is excessive swearing in the series, to which the answer is 'NO'.

Secondly, it was well known that Deadwood suffered from excessive profanity. Swearing is fine but every second word out of every characters' mouth being an expletive is just ridiculous.

'Limitations' has nothing to do with it.

Happiness must be earned.
