DuMaurier's Son Faults Harris, Director

I can't link the article, but there is an article in the Radio Times interviewing DuMaurier's son.

He said Frost's script was wonderful but the sound issue ruined it for him.

More to the point, he came right out and blamed three people: the sound guy (well, guys/girls I assume), the director and Sean Harris. Mainly I think he faults the director for LETTING Harris mutter and the sound people for not speaking up and/or fixing it.

He also said that it was a relief when Joss died so at least the final part of the series wasn't ruined.

OUCH. That is HARSH!

Thanks. That was interesting because her heirs still own du Maurier's copyrights (not yet in the public domain).

But I disagree with Browning about Frost's script. I have more than a couple of quibbles with it.

Maybe he and Frost met and he got friendly with her. Maybe he's trying to shift the heat off of her? IDK.

I did not read it but I know in the book there was no sister for the Vicar and I don't think they should have added her.

Otherwise I don't know enough to quibble with it. And I usually don't mind some changes,

Harris was the only one I couldn't understand
Beyond an artistic choice....this was pure self indulgent.

I think I can see what he was aiming at....but if the audience can't understand the dialogue, you're impacting the quality of the show....and not in a good way.

Everything else about this production was excellent.
