Why did the killer's Mother commit suicide?

Can someone explain to me why the killer's mother had committed suicide after her reality show?

The post was so thoughtless that it's worth repeating: THINK before you post an unannounced spoiler - and then don't post it. This kind of stupidity happens pretty frequently.

I wouldn't really consider this a spoiler. The OP doesn't say the killer's name, and stating that their mother committed suicide doesn't tell you anything about the killer, other than why hechose to kill. It's not like they said "Why did the killer, MATT'S mother commit suicide? I think Lifetime had a spoiler of their own because I knew who the killer was within 5 minutes of himbeing on screen, and there was 0 mystery after that.

It definately IS a spoiler since it gives away the motive for the murders, which isn't revealed until the end of the movie.
