Pleasantly Surprised!

Just saw it, didn't really want to but my bro twisted my arm and it was his turn to choose tonight. I love the series but thought the first film was naff and that it just rehashed old jokes and didn't have any special moments; didn't expect much from this one at all but it had me laughing out loud a lot of the time and I'm now glad I saw it in the cinema! I found it to be original with the gags, a lot less predictable, nice and gross, well written and all the guys were given fair screen time and had a funny story going on. All in all a clever and funny movie, 8/10.

I hadn't been wowed by any of the clips I'd seen. But, anything was going to be better than "Boyhood", during which I very nearly died of boredom last week. So, I went along to the first showing in Loughborough yesterday... It's a little slow to get going - apart from Jay's brilliant fantasy description of his life in Australia, it didn't start to completely engage me 'til they got to Byron Bay. But, I really enjoyed it... Properly funny... Looking back on them, I wonder if the disgusting moments went too far. But, while I was actually watching the film, they worked perfectly, even if I was really cringing... Like the first one, this one also managed to be surprisingly touching... When they were all holding hands and preparing to die, I did actually wonder if the film-makers had decided to kill the four of them off... So, very fun, very British, very disgusting - I enjoyed it a lot!
