I think the movie looks like crap but that monster's design is cute and likeable. Reminds me of Toothless or Stitch with the way they designed the face and mouth.
What's missing in movies is same as in society: a good sense of work ethic and living up to ideals.

I don't know about you, but it's weird for me to be excited by a movie with a tentacle monster that does not involve penetration. But seriously, I actually really liked this.

I just saw this as a lark, I didn't even know there were tentacle monsters in it. This was a throwaway movie on a Sunday night, I expected to see something terrible. Oddly enough it was a pleasant, well done kids movie that made me nostalgic and happy, which is rare.
