Saw the way they were speaking, shut it off

If it's going to be modernized, why not use modern speech? This crap is crap, and will fail because of it.

I tired to understand what they were talking about, but I could only grasp it a little bit. I felt like I was watching a foreign film for the most part with no subtitles to help me out.

Romeo + Juliet wants a word with you...

reply

Me too OP. Total crap !!!

reply

When you’re calling Shakespeare “crap” then you know you’re the idiot here...

reply

Im not calling Shakespeare crap... Im calling this re-imagination crap !!

i took it for 5 minutes, hoping they would stop. they didn't...

reply

Why would they have stopped? Lol. Anybody who stopped 5 minutes in is clearly an ADD retard who had no interest in this in the first place, and has terrible taste in entertainment more than likely.
There's no doubt this deserves a 5.5, but it's hardly unwatchable, and certainly not because of Shakespeare's writing even if it were.

"has terrible taste"

Really now. Have you seen a mirror lately? What exactly is "good taste"? That haircut? LOL

Seriously. I want you to define "good taste" in entertainment. Don't just give me examples (although welcome). I need a proper definition so that I can use it to evaluate any random movie or future movie and determine whether or not it is in "good taste" or "terrible taste" so I can decide whether or not I should watch it.

G'head. Entertain us.

Wow, are you a pretentious phony or what?

I enjoyed it. When I read Shakespeare, I never understand it. When I see it acted out and the language used, I not only understand better, I feel smarter.

Worked better with Romeo and Juliet (decaprio version). That had john Leguizamo In it as well.

R&J was a bit glitzier while this was more grittier. I don't know. But both had Shakespearean speak within a modernized script/film.

reply

agreed. i wont watch something spokenin shakespearean english. nor a subtitled foreign film
