how long is this series?

how many episodes is this suppose to last for?

reply

There's just the one episode.

From this article - http://www.radiotimes.com/episode/cn8v2j/drama-matters--series-1---4-d rama-matters-the-last-witch

"Katherine Kelly and Anne Reid star in a one-off supernatural thriller written by Sally Wainwright."

That is very disappointing. I really liked the show and was curios where they were going with the plot. I guess I have to make it up now.

So basically a TV movie, made as an episode? That's lunacy.

It had the feel of a Pilot to it, the end left it wide open for more episodes.

I believe this is a three-part series from SKY.

Check it out here: http://www.sky.com/tv/show/drama-matters/video/the-last-witch

Short answer: nobody knows.

Long answer: SkyLiving is having a month-long event called Drama Matters. As part of Drama Matters, they're airing five pilot episodes for five proposed series. Based on audience interest, they're going to choose one series to develop.

So, either the Last Witch will become an ongoing series, or what we saw is all there is.

Personally, I thought it was creepy and intense and I really hope it gets the go-ahead.

Yeah, it was pretty good and it would be a shame to have it end the way it did. I'm kinda curious to see what the next four pilots are gonna be.

reply

Hey...look out for The Psychopath Next Door, Lawless and Rubenesque - certainly the first two have aired already and I'm not sure about the latter, but I'm about to watch it on Sky Go now. I have no clue of what the fifth pilot will be :-)

I've seen the Psychopath Next Door, The Last Witch, and could have but didn't watch Rubenesque.

Not sure what dimension I am in.

dgillespey, I think there's a misunderstanding here. The other guy is saying he saw two other new pilots, not other episodes of The Last Witch. There's only one episode of The Last Witch for now, and we all agree on that.

If you read articles about Sky's "Drama Matters" pilots, they're full of phrases like "may go to a full series." So yeah, it does look like there's a chance we'll see more of The Last Witch. I'm not counting on it, but it seems possible.

I've seen them all:

The Psychopath Next Door - This was about a therapist that starts taking over a group of friends' lives. It starred Anna Friel and was pretty good and funny. It sort of had an ending, but was left largely open. To me this one had the most potential as a series.

Lawless - This one was the story of a young female judge and her first day and her struggle to keep order. It starred Suranne Jones and I didn't really feel this one. The ending was left completely open with lots of unanswered questions.

Rubenesque - A female referee that gets sacked and takes up work as a plus size model. The funniest of the bunch, but it was the only one with a real ending and seemed to wrap itself up in one episode. I don't see how it could be expanded into a series.

The Last Witch - Obviously you know what this one was about.

Talking To The Dead - This was a two part about a young Welsh detective being promoted to murder cases and he first week on the job. It was alright but all seemed resolved at the end of the second episode.

I've only just considered it but each one is focused around a female lead.

My vote for a series from these would be to The Psychopath Next Door.
