Wow

Is this film brand new? I can't believe there are no comments here yet.

I was scrolling through the SF section of Netflix and saw this and literally the only reason I watched it was I recognised the lead from her role as Demora Sulu in Star Trek Generations.

Well, I'm glad I did. I loved the strong SF concept grounded by the central mother-daughter relationship. There are fantastic performances throughout, an atmospheric score, and everyone involved in creating this film should be proud of the result.

It is, indeed, quite a brilliant film. Jacqueline Kim, Freya Adams, and Samantha Kim all deliver fantastic performances. Especially the first two. A slow burner that has an uneasy tension resting just beneath it's surface. Enthralling and utterly brilliant.

Hey guys, I did a little producing on the film and so thank you for the kind comments! These are the kinds of films we need out there in the genre realm! If you guys can, please post these comments on our Netflix page and rate us! Would be very much appreciated :)

Yes, well done. Great film!! I love indie sci-fi ... and this is a more than worthy entry to the genre. I was just surprised it didn't star Brit Marling :-)

I gave it a 5 on Netflix. A bit predictable due to the well-worn storyline, but beautifully made and quite heartbreaking all the same. Wonderful mood piece with stunning acting, understated yet deeply resonant.

I didn't know Netflix had pages where people can leave remarks. Absolutely, will do that too (ETA: now did that too). I can't believe how underrated it is on IMDb.

Well-worn storyline? How so? Well-worn setting, sure, but I don't recall ever seeing a movie take a good look at all the people being left behind by progress. I found it refreshing subtle.

Done and done. I agree wholeheartedly that we need more films like this! Thanks for giving us such a gem :D

I enjoyed this movie immensely. The relationship between the mother and daughter was touching and so right on point that I almost forgot this was a movie. I have seen similar themes but the class, elegance and grace of this film moved my heart. Bravo to all involved in the making of this gem. Spoiler Alert: no car chase scenes -just real human emotions. 9 out of 10 for me.

I found the casting to be quite odd and didn't enjoy this stupid boring movie.
Miscast because the woman in the lead is one of those women who will age well becuase she has never looked young. Even at 14 she had that dramatic face. To act like she is suddenly needing to look younger...foolish If it was real they would have made her do something eons ago

I think you may have missed the point: it was not really about her "look" it was about the product. The company pressuring her into doing the transfer was the point. This was made clear by the number of shots done early in the film showing the beauty of this woman regardless of age. The company's object was for sales to be "through the roof" and to that end they had to destroy a beautiful person to do it.

BTW, listen to the marketing: "Sick of the flaws of being you? Transfer to a new perfect body." (A.K.A. kill yourself)

Superb film, a solid 8/10. (and I'm a dude)

Yes. It's a beautiful piece. Also agree the gorgeous music choices are a big part of its deep atmosphere!

It's so terribly sad when Gwen 2.0 doesn't love music the way Gwen did...
