Is what this is. Absolutely ridiculous to think that Vermeer actually used this convoluted method, and there's a number of issues with it. You'd think Penn would know what Occam's razor is, and that Vermeer simply being a talented artist is infinitely more likely. Especially considering that numerous artists produced works of a similar nature in that time period.
