He just added a mirror, and calls it an Eureka effect? How stupid and retarded do these people think we are? Also he only painted 2 times in his life and comes up with this result of the black and white picture? I have painted a lot more and couldnt achieve this. This was one of the most unscientific complete brainfarty documentary ive seen in a long time. A small mirror as the key to drawing like Vermeer? This is beyond stupid sorry.

Did you actually watch the documentary?

Have you attempted to use the same set up to create art?

Or are you just grumpy and needing to vent?

im trying to show you that this documentary is a hoax, but people wil believe anything, if the are stupid enough

Before drawing the conclusion that using a mirror is beyond stupid, you should know that this technique (of having a comparative mirror) have been used for over a 100 years in order to draw accurate pictures and diagrams from microscopes and other instruments within the scientific field. It was not until photography became cheaply available that hand drawing from a the "camera ludica" type setup disappeared.

The unique conclusion in this documentary is that this technique, with great success, also can be applied to a real scene and a full size painting by addition of a lens and a concave mirror. Keep in mind that one of Vermeers friends was Antonie van Leeuwenhoek who was a lens-maker and an expert in optics, often cited as "The father of microbiology". He built own microscopes, studied microbiology and created detailed and realistic drawings from his observations.

im not denying he was using a mirror, im saying that using a mirror as an untrained painter, will not automatically teach how to paint like an old master painter.

You don't use lenses and mirrors to do your bathroom.

And he didn't use a small mirror to make a 'drawing' like Vermeer,
he made a 'painting' like Vermeer.

not everything you dont understand, means someone is trolling, it could also mean you just dont understand this. yes he was using a mirror, but the painting technique he was using, was clearly an advanced one, please try it at home and then compare your results, cheers.
