Perhaps I'm just really dense, but can someone clear up who the bearded man was? This is the man Rosemary actually had sex with on baby night as well as the one who stopped her on the stairwell to tell her to "be strong." I think this is also the man who was having the sex orgy Rosemary walked in on. Is this just Roman Castevet in disguise? Is he the devil in human form? Is he possibly the cat? I was hoping he would show up in the final "meeting the baby" scene, but I couldn't see him anywhere.

Yes.

I found it strange that he kept showing up at different points throughout Rosemary's pregnancy, yet when the baby was born he was nowhere to be seen.

I like how when he runs into her in the stairwell he says to "Hold on"(think that was it). Its creepy in a way because it was as if the devil was almost comforting her. Then again it is the mother of his child. Also.....did anyone else think that man looked like Anton Lavay???. He has something to do with the book of Satan or something and is famous for being a satanist Ha ha I know who he is but I promise I am not a satanist. Anyway that is who the guy reminded me of.

So I guess you guys missed the whole part with her saying (and spelling his name with scabble tiles) was an anagram for Roman...

The thing is though since the devil was supposed to be Steven Marcotto then how can Roman also be Steven?? If I am stating it right. I saw the whole scene where in the book the pictures of Steven Marcotto(I think that was who it was) looked like Roman. I do not believe that Roman was the devil.

that's because it wasn't very good, the film was much better... we didn't need them to show the devil etc...
