What was the deal with that strange little man?

that was hopping around all over the place- i didnt get that

Right?!? Yeah, he just seemed one of the plotlines that went nowhere (like, say, Margaux kissing Rosemary... Margaux kissing Guy... the revelation that Rosemary's friend had slept with Guy... all this stuff that any viewer would assume would lead to more, then it's just never brought up again). This guy *seemed* like just some random disabled man that worked for the Castavettes, at first, then he started leaping around and acting like an animal, inexplicably. My *guess* is that he was just supposed to somehow create a sense of unease - or maybe it was even implied that, through their evil doings, the Castavettes were somehow responsible for his condition? Either way, it was just one of many plot points that went exactly nowhere.

Yeah, this is what I thought, like he was somehow a 'failed baby' that they've tried to have conceived before like, 30 some years ago o.o

I like to think the weird guy was a devil child that was an epic fail. But they still kept him around even though he could not fullfill his role. Or..... I guess he could have been someone that was affected by something the cult did to him.

The scary clown doll is hiding under my bed.

^ Exactly what I believe. The man turned out to be a Bizarro, rather than the Superman that the coven had hoped for. If you don't know who Bizarro is, just look it up.

I was hoping the script would explain in more detail who this weird character was but it never did.

I thought he was an animal, probably a cat, that the coven had given human form. That was why he was hopping and why he was making those sounds.

I wish they had explained why he was hopping and scurrying. "He was born without a tongue," doesn't explain why he was moving like or why he turned his head that weird way when he was trying to communicate.
