I agree with the OP. Rosemary's Baby had a very plodding pace, and the payoff was weak, in my opinion. The acting, however, was superb, which was the ONLY thing that saved it from utter ruin.

The original wasn't About interracial relationships so why would it need to comment on it? And what does that have to do with the story line anyway.

And for others commenting on how slow the pace was in the original , that's what makes it the masterpiece it is. It's creepy . Sets a ton that makes the film an it's atmosphere.

Back when the original came out it was scary because we weren't yet desensitized. It was a subtle scare. Also, they didn't rely as much on special effects which have come very far. The original Batman was nothing like the Batman we have now either. It's just common sense.
