The part that tipped me off the mother (Spoilers)

Wasn't the antagonist was when the boy came in her room while she was asleep then he left and the mother crunched down on something, we then see she was eating a sandwich or toast and had it hid under her blanket. Now in the trailer i remembered a cockroach crawling in her mouth and then seeing her crunch down on it and eat it.

But as soon as the sandwich was revealed thats what she was crunching on i realized what the trailer had done, by clipping different scenes together making you think something was wrong with her. So from that point on i knew it was gonna be the boys was paranoid and it was gonna be that she was their mother but they was so paranoid they was gonna do something stupid.

I hadn't figured out about the one twin actually being dead and Elias was only seeing him in his head, but when she ate that sandwich it kinda signaled to the viewers she was gonna turn out to be perfectly normal and the boys was gonna be the antagonists.

Thats what i love about these high school girls, i get older they stay the same age.

She wasn't really "perfectly normal", but yes.

Also, blame the distributor for editing that trailer in such a way... Can't really blame them, at the end of the day it's all about making money, so they might as well try to market it as a "horror" film when it's more of a subtle thing.

Fine, fine, I'll leave! But first I'm going to bother these peanuts! Hmm? Yes? Hmm? HMM?

Well yeah but she wasn't some demented crazed monster eating cockroaches and running naked through the woods is all i meant.

Also yeah that trailer is one gigantic lie lol, never have i seen a trailer more misleading. That whole trailer makes the movie out to be about two twins' mother returning from surgery and is eating cockroaches and acting really strange and looks to be some kind monster or entity. While its up to the boys to figure it out and survive her.

I very much prefer the original teaser and the trailer edited by the directors themselves, though it's just one scene from the movie pretty much (for the teaser that is):

Much more atmospheric and doesn't really lead in the viewer to assume other things. "Something is wrong" is probably what you get from it.
