Did Hercules: The Legendary Journeys come to mind?

I just felt like I was watching an extended episode of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys.
Just the tone and style reminded me of watching an episode of Hercules.
Not complaining I enjoyed the show, movie was enjoyable enough.
Not to be taken too seriously.

All of The Scorpion King films have reminded me of Sorbo's Hercules series and that isn't a bad thing in my book as I love that show. Mathayus even bam bammed the bad guy like Hercules had done several times, even the Hulk did it to Loki in the first Avengers movie.

I had the same feeling, the music, the costume, the comedy aspect, the cheap sets, it was fun :P

Alice is the worst character of all time, she need to die in the last movie. Chris/Jill are RE !!!

I have to agree here, 10mins in and I was having Hercules flashbacks.

Yes, This could have been a really good TV episode. Nothing wrong with that. For straight to video it's one of the better ones. Oh and of course our main man, Lou "The Incredible Hulk" Ferrigno is in it. I think they meant to make I like a TV episode especially with the teaser.

The scene with the line, "Maybe it's a different hole?" Watch it just to see that in it's proper context.

Yes, this film series is heavily influenced by Hercules the Legendary Journeys.

Virtually all modern action/sci-fi/fantasy movies and shows of the last 20 years have been heavily influenced by Hercules the Legendary Journeys.

The Brendan Fraser Mummy films which started this particular franchise were influenced by HTLJ. The combination of action, drama, humor, exotic setting, mythology and the super natural are the Hercules formula.

Everything from the Super Hero craze (the Spider-Man trilogy was made by Sam Raimi, producer of Hercules) to the Vampire craze (Buffy was made into a series because of the popularity of Xena which was a spin-off of HTLJ) can all be traced back to Hercules.

In short, Hercules the Legendary Journeys is the most influential show of the last 20 years.
