Alright so I know the first thing asked will be how did I watch it, well I won't tell but what I will say, might disappoint some.

When I saw the trailer and knowing of the franchise I was a little worried about how it would be played out. Lets all be honest, we all remember it for the first installment, the last two were not that great. Although I did go into watching this with an open mind.

The start of the movie is the trailer and from there on it really doesn't get that much better for fight scenes. The acting is mediocre at best and the on screen relationships just don't work. Throughout the entire movie the writer tried to put bits of comedy into it.. horrible that's all I can say.. dry and useless.

I could keep going and going about specifics but in the end I would just be wasting more of my time on this movie. I truly hope they end this franchise with this POS and move on to new things.

I disagree with you... If you expect something like a bigbudget version like the first one was, yes then it's a very crappy movie.. If you expect something like a lowbudget version, then it's exactly what you'll get..

I can't even remember the 3rd one, and I was suprised to see when I just checked that it also starred Victor Webster as Mathayus. In this one I thought he was a very good replacement for the Rock as Mathayus, he had the same look, same posture, same kinda voice, and IMHO the same screen presence..
I laughed at times in this movie because of the jokes, which seem like the same kind of jokes I saw in the first one..
Yes it wasn't the best movie there was, but that's more due to the low budget this one had.. If it had a bigger budget and maybe some better cinematography this one could really be something..

So I do hope they'll do more with Webster as Mathayus as we'll never see another big budget version with the Rock anyway.. So I do hope they'll use a bigger budget on the next one, and hopefully a more experienced director..
One thing that always bothers me about these productions is how much difference there is in cinematography even though it should not be necessary with today's equipment..

If you are into these kinds of low budget action/adventure movies then you'll definitly want to watch this one..
I have the first 3 already on bluray and I'll be sure to pick this one up as well (once it is in the pricerange I normally buy my blurays)..

the acting is just crap, this isn't just a problem with the directing or cinematography I just couldn't get into it because it was such D level acting.. granted probably better than I could do.. but not what I would expect from this franchise. I wanted better.

To each their own, we can have different opinions. (:

I'm watching it now and oh dear it is pretty crap!The only good thing is that in the UK it has been rated 15 which is rare thing these days for action films and the 1st 3 are rated 12.
I didn't feel like I was watching a 'Scorpion King' film tbh.
It felt more Medieval to me than being set before The Mummy Returns.
I get there a budget restraints etc but I think enough is enough!
In my eyes he turns to the dark side after Cassandra is brutally murdered (not dying from a disease or whatever they said in the 3rd film) and he goes on a rampage conquering everyone and everything in his way and these sequels don't exist.
Fair play to people who did enjoy the sequels but they are just not for me.

Well, if you can still find the interview during the first film's release, :the Rock" Dwayne Johnson said himself that the Scorpion King movie was meant to be a single one-shot film. When asked about sequels to tell how the scorpion king descended into darkness, he said that the story has already been told at the beginning of the Mummy Returns and briefly addressed in a line at the end of the Scorpion King.

Therefore, the only real timeline for the Scorpion King is:

The videogame OR comic book mini-series
Scorpion King movie
Mummy Returns

The rest of these DTV films ignore the story for which it's based off of. Even in this terrible movie, Mathayus devotes himself to the service of a new queen. There is even a line where he seemingly chooses a new destiny beyond what was set forth for him. I shook my head at this movie.

I completely agree with you. they made it so bad by the worst writing, the worst acting, and really uninvolving characters, and characters who are so dry, so emotionless, and so boring and unentertaining, this movie is one of those can't believe how bad they are movies that are so cheap and so stupid, stupid dialogue, uninvolving plotlines, man, everything about it is uneventful and not fun or entertaining in any way, this really is one of those lowest of the low movies that has no redeeming qualities. and it's not even good in a so bad it's good way. the whole movie feels so cheap, where everything is put together in the most inexpensive way. and they even made the 2 hot girls fighting scene really bad and that's really hard to screw up, it was just barely entertaining at all and just barely arousing or sexy at all.
