Does this remind anyone of the 'show within a show' from Extras?

A completely unfunny comedy with a laugh track that the BBC thinks is great. I wonder if the original idea for this was as bad as the end result.

Well it's not a laugh track and Mrs Brown's Boys is more like When the Whistle Blows to be honest. But I do agree that this is pretty bad.
