Certainly quirky.

Shades of 'The Young Ones' with the surreal touches.

Found it tedious, the format and jokes are so hideously out of date. The characters come across as "WHACKY TV CHARACTERS!" rather than actual, funny, believable people. Even the farcical Vivienne from YO's felt more rooted in an actual person than these guys.

If that's you thing, great, enjoy it. I'll be giving it a miss though. I'd heard a lot of good things about the guys from Pappy's, on this evidence, their live shows must be (a lot) better.

It's absolutely awful.

It's in the same tradition of unfunny rubbish as "coming of age" I just don't know what the beeb are thinking.

These shows just are not funny.

Walter Sobchak: Am I wrong?
The Dude: You're not wrong Walter. You're just an a**hole.

But the Young Ones was far superior.
This is just inferior....

I'd say this is in the running for the least worst sitcom in the last five years, if only because the genre seems to have long since peaked. I'm not sure if I'd have enjoyed it as much if I wasn't already familiar with them from Flatshare Slamdown, though.

If you know of any better sitcoms still being made that are both (a) original and (b) funny, then do share (I mean it too, there's a proper drought on.)

No there aren't any good sitcoms at the moment.

The best one in recent times was the inbetweeners.
Prior to that Black Books and Spaced.

No it's still awful.

I'm 4 episodes in and it's just getting worse. I can't be accused of not giving it a chance.

Hints on how Badults can be better.

1st Remove the laughter track.
This isn't needed to alert the audience on what's funny.

2nd define the characters better. All of the males do not need to be wacky, silly or incompetent.

3rd Give some more airtime to the female character, which should break up the dire situational set up.

I started watching chickens on sky and the indications on that one are also looking poor.

Christ, it is hard finding good original sitcoms coming out of the UK just now. So many panel shows, so many shouty men.

Also comes down to how you define a sitcom i suppose.

I loved Hunderby, was hilarious.
Psychoville, also hilarious.
Getting On was marvelous as well.
Also liked Family Tree, which was gentler, but still had some hilarious moments; especially with Nina Conti.
Fresh Meat isn't too bad, is excellent compared to Badults.
Peep Show still going strong.
The Thick of It, although finished, was in the last five years and was amazing.
Oh, Rev was really good. Moone Boy, too.

Not really a fan of it, but the Inbetweeners was very well received.

So, i'm talking out my arse, loads of good stuff in the last five years. There's no way Badults is the "least worst" in that period.

Saw a trailer for this. Looks pretty "meh". But it has Jack Docherty in it so I am going to watch the only available episode on BBC iPlayer. If it's cack, it's cack. But I miss Jack from his Absolutely and self-titled chat show days. He's still fit, even at 52!
