Gave it a chance...

and ended up surprised that I liked it. The first episode was pretty awful, but I thought the same thing of "The IT Crowd" and ended up really enjoying it.

I've watched five episodes so far, as I believe that's all there is at the moment, but ended up laughing generously at episodes two through five.

I have seen a lot of negative things said about this show, but I like to think of it as "anti-humor" in a sense that the joke is more about laughing at it, like a fat kid running shirtless. He knows exactly why people are laughing, and knows he'd be laughing as well if he was watching someone else jiggle their way 50 feet, then double over while breathing heavy and fat.

No it's still awful.

I'm 4 episodes in and it's just getting worse. I can't be accused of not giving it a chance.

Hints on how it can be better.

1st Remove the laughter track.
This isn't needed to alert the audience on what's funny.

2nd define the characters better. All of the males do not need to be wacky, silly or incompetent.

3rd Give some more airtime to the female character, which should break up the dire situational set up.

I watched Badults on iPlayer after finding out former Absolutely star Jack Docherty is in it. I had seen a trailer and thought it looked awful, but decided to give it a go after gaining this knowledge. Pleasantly surprised. Not the most hilarious thing ever, but it raised a good few giggles. It's each to their own, naturally. This has received a lot of negative publicity, but I quite like it. There are plenty of comedies out there that a lot of people love which I think are bloody awful. All a question of personal taste.
