Why the canned laughter?
I think the show is very funny but I would like it a lot more if it wasn't for the dreadful laughter track which someone stuck onto it.

shareIt isn't a track. I worked on this studio sitcom and it was recorded in front of a studio audience at BBC Scotland in Glasgow.
shareThe mere fact that the show was recorded in front of an audience doesn't automatically mean that a track wasn't added afterwards.
shareI was at the recording of the last episode of season 2 last night. The audience did indeed provide a generous helping of laughter.
You can't palm off a second-rater on me. You gotta remember I was in the pink!
Trust me it wasn't. There would be absolutely no point in filming with an audience only to add a track in.
They do record extra laughs to work with in post however. The show is still *beep* though.
Oh and they adjust the audio levels to make it louder/quiter at times.
