Thoughts on finale

On one hand I liked it because Claire's death was kinda unexpected. On the other hand it feels like they've been forcing the Noma/Alex thing down our throats for the entire second season only to see her true allegiance, whether or not she realizes, is to Lucifer. I was really kind of banking on Lucifer not being a stereotypical portrayal but looks like the writers have other ideas. Overall think it was kind of a letdown. Lot of buildup for not much to happen. If this gets a new season it feels like we're in for yet another season of good vs. evil players swapping teams.

Every character saying "go on without me" or "I'm staying here". Hey, maybe if you clods had stuck together you'd have been waaaay better off.

Claire's possessed dad not dead, because good guys are screw ups.

Julian not dead, because bad guys are screw ups.

William Wheel a prisoner again...like he was most of the season. ARRRGH!

Lucifer...had creation powers...hmm....since when?

This might as well be WWE Wrestling, where the characters switch from good to bad and back every couple of months.

The powers and characters of the various angels have no relationship to the Bible, Milton, Dante, Hillel, or any other reference regarding angels. I doubt that any of the writers even know what the Bible is, or have done any research regarding these characters.

Raisins, William, David, Lucien have all died at some point, and then have been returned to life so that the same drama can be squeezed out of them twice (or more), instead of just working to introduce new, more interesting characters.

All this show does is rehash the same crap over and over again, and recycle the same characters over and over again.

Just flushing this turd. No more for me, thanks.

The writers and the creator of the show has said all along. They are not following the bible word for word, but taking the characters and using them in a different way.

Oh and bye

reply

Actually its not even about them following the bible. The show has lost it's way a LONG time ago. Season 2 was a big hot mess.

Season2 was top-notch.
Just like Helix.

On what charge?

First degree cancelling of a show you like?

I don't think that would stand up in court.

William Wheel is dead. DAVID Wheel, his father, shot William when he (William) destroyed the console for the gate/wall. It is DAVID Wheel that was captured again. Just saying.

reply

Can we really be sure William Wheel is dead? Maybe he'll rise from the dead to annoy again.
I mean, his storyline this season was mostly a waste of time...so David could reflect on his failure...which he did with imaginary William and then during the darkness. Living William wasn't required...and why anyone in the bar would believe him to be a chosen one is still hard to grasp.

And it's "Whele", not "Wheel"... just sayin'.

Overall, I really liked the season finale. There was a lot going on, but there was also a lot of buildup with everything pretty much left open-ended, so I really hope that there is another season. Claire's death was really unexpected and kind of sad. Alex acting like The Chosen One and using the tattoos against those eight balls was good (IMO). I like how he took charge, used the tattoos and actually accomplished something pretty big. If we get another season, I hope that there is more of that.

Finding out that Noma was involved in Alex's mom's death wasn't surprising, since they pretty heavily hinted at that last episode. Noma making a deal to get her wings back wasn't too surprising either, since she said that she felt like she was nothing without them and we saw in the episode with the Darkness that she really wanted them back and regretted ripping them out. She'd also been feeling like she'd lost Alex to Claire, so I can understand why she would make a deal to get them back (not that I think it was the right thing to do, but I understand it). If there's another season, I hope that she ends up conflicted over what she did or that she didn't know exactly who she was dealing with, and that she doesn't totally turn evil or whatever (since that would seem like too sudden a shift in character). I like that Claire and Noma (I'm guessing) are out of the picture romantically for Alex, since I think that will help him grow as an individual character, and allow for more focus on him being the Chosen One and not which woman he should choose.

I will agree that the finale was rather good and it should be interesting to see what direction season 3 will take if the show comes back.

reply

Noma betraying Alex to get her wings back because she thought she'd lost him to Claire...then Claire is dead.

Irony much?

reply

This finale was bad. The whole second season was a wash. Folks forget THIS was supposed to be inspired by the Film "Legion." It became a weak soap opera and a list of "COULD HAVES." The direction for season 2 was all over the place and the main characters kept ding things that went against WHO they are. Claire...shooting people in the head and knees? Alex...betraying Michael again and again? Too much story ad character inconsistency. There is also too many fans willing to forgive such blatant disregards or the importance of solid story.

Legion was a good movie. This TV show is baked vomit fried with monkey diarrhea.

Have not seen the finale.
just wanted to comment that this story is going all over the F place. Then michael is bad then good idem for his brother then this then their on that side then not. Writers make up your F minds!

No...so much no that it hurts... Legion was an abortion that lived.

The movie was awful but at least had good actors.

I enjoyed the season final it was left open , i just hope we get another season but more focused on the angels with lucifer now returning it would be good. I hope there is more towns like Mallory but more extreem when it came to sacrificing some to save the town, it would be fun if this new town had the wickerman feel to it.

I really miss the first season, when everyone were dressed so nice, they were clean and beautiful, Vega was clean and beautiful as well. Season 2, everyone looked like they needed a serious bath, Vega is ugly, people wearing garbage, everyone is dying or switching sides like God knows what....ah this chaos is just too much! The only thing I liked about season 2 is Michael's bond with Gabriel and Alex, the flashbacks were far more interesting, and there was a lot more action this season.

reply

I re-watched the final last night.

Something I thought at the time but forgot when I first posted on this thread, and no one has commented on.

Noma kissed Alex then unfurled her new wings.

I thought Judas betraying Jesus with a kiss.

I doubt there will be another season. And basically the way this last episode went--humanity is pretty much screwed! Well--maybe.

My problem was with the entire premise of the story line--but I can live with a shaky plot line if the internal logic is consistent--and unfortunately, this show failed that particular test. How could Gabriel justify his reasoning that God left because of humans--when the very fact of the tattoos showed God at work (in this premise)? And as the Bible has demonstrated quite clearly, if God had wanted humans gone, he was quite capable and in fact promised that he'd wipe us out himself. He certainly didn't need the Angels to do it for him. But the angels weren't even actually wiping out humans, they were taking over the bodies--and how are they going to do that if all the humans are gone? Why didn't a single angel ever suggest that maybe God's silence was a test for THEM? (well, maybe they suggested it, I don't remember) They failed big time.

I liked the main characters, but there were way too many plot holes and irrational actions by characters throughout the two seasons. I was a regular viewer but not a huge fan like I was for Defiance. Now THAT's a show I'm going to miss.

reply

I wish they would of finished it before calling it quits. They need to do that with a lot of shows. It sucks to leave anyone hanging like that.
