The first ep was not quite as engaging as I had hoped, but I decided to stick with it and got into the second ep much better. I think it took an extra ep to find its rhythm. Imo there was a little bit too much about their love lives, as though the series creators expected only women to tune in, and didn't give their audience enough credit, believing they wouldn't be engaged in the series unless it contained lots of romance?

Fortunately, their war experiences were much more engagaing than their romances (wish they had shown more). I really liked this series and would have been pleased to see two more eps, or so. I think this program was much better than The Crimson Field.
