Just what we need, more feminist revisionist history.

This is just more dishonest feminist propaganda, oh look the evil men are keeping down the poor good hearted women. Absolute rubbish.

In reality it was nothing like this black and white, check this out: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/men/thinking-man/11509811/Why-has-everyone-forgotten-about-male-suffrage.html

Thanks for the link, Bill.

I saw the film last night and, whilst I enjoyed it, I had the uncomfortable feeling that I was being manipulated. I'm always suspicious of anything that portrays history in such a simplistic, black-and-white way.

(EDITED to clarify)

If there aren't any skeletons in a man's closet, there's probably a Bertha in his attic.

reply

What was so manipulative about that?? Are you another feminist that refuses to accept the truth when its right in front of them?

Yes, in some countries people have to join the military, whether they like it or not.

reply

No. I don't think he's being sarcastic.

Nature oppressed men and women into roles best suited to their strengths in order for men, women AND children to survive.

reply

For millions of years, so called NATURE produced relatively egalitarian hunter-gather human societies where women produced most of the food, actually. It was the fight against nature called CIVILISATION that produced women's oppression and that only began 8-5 thousand years ago.

Learn your anthropology before embarassing yourself, mate.

reply

LOL. You're the one paying attention to propaganda. You're the one who doesn't understand how hard life was for everyone before the technological age. We're talking about a time when you have to boil your own bathwater on the stove, which could take HOURS. We're talking about a time when men and women needed servants to take care of such Mickey Mouse horsesh!t if they had any hope of thriving and becoming successful.

Who kept women out of the military?

Women. It's a woman who created the modern book of etiquette. It's women that wanted their daughters to grow up to marry someone wealthy and stable. Why would women want to train their daughters to become soldiers when the easiest way for their daughters to exist is exist off of a strong, healthy man?? It was fathers that wanted to indulge their daughters' desires to be like the boys. Fathers created the tomboy. Not mothers.

And husbands didn't want to push things too far and risk pissing off their wives.

It's really sad that you a$$holes keep ignoring or forgetting or conveniently forgetting or intentionally ignoring how much power women have had over the men in their lives. You all keep acting like women in those days were literally chained to a pole in the backyard. But, that couldn't be further from the truth. Even burkas have a great, practical purpose in the protection of women. But, the truth is as soon as humanity created more prosperous, egalitarian civilizations, women started understanding and appreciating their true value. Women in those privileged societies have always looked at warfare as a brutal male thing. They're always better than war. Look at Sally Field's statement about mothers.

And your next question completely validates what I said.

And which gender starts wars?

With very few exceptions, it's always the males doing to the dirty work. Whether it's human beings or birds, men are the ones naturally facing down the odds, risking their lives for their families as if they matter so much more. Male birds look more colorful to draw off would-be predators. It's a natural thing built into all men, to be self-sacrificing for our women and children if we need to. It's also built into us to lead our women and children to better lives, so we don't have to fight to obtain safety and security anymore. Human men have been leading the way to conquering nature and pulling women out of the jaws of nature forever. That's what drives societies to start wars... for the most part. The safety, security, happiness and legacy of families. And that is definitely true of the allies when they joined up and started fighting the Japs and Nazis in WW2.

It's despicable that you people continue associate the heroes of WW2 with the psychotic enemies. How dare you! Do you know how fcking disrespectful that is to all the men that sacrificed their lives for your freedom??

reply

No, men kept women out of the military since the first formations in the ancient world since men run the military.

Roman society prevented poor men from joining the military until the Marian reforms since war was seen as a glorious pursuit in riches.

I doubt a punk bitch like you is worth sh!t in a fight.

Wars are fought for power not for the benefit of women.

It's despicable that you people continue associate the heroes of WW2 with the psychotic enemies. How dare you! Do you know how fcking disrespectful that is to all the men that sacrificed their lives for your freedom??

No, you made that association with your strawmen. WW2 was mostly imperial powers and expansionist powers fighting other imperialist powers and expansionist powers. USA and South America, native genocide. Britain and France built empires on murdering natives in far off lands.

Blaming women for wars when it is our gender in charge of armies and governments that make the decisions to go to war is dumb.

The minority of women wanted to join. A society can not thrive if it lets a minority dictate policy. It's that simple. That's why such minority groups have always been encouraged to move away and create their own society ELSEWHERE.

I doubt a punk bitch like you is worth sh!t in a fight.

Such maturity for a "progressive" person.

So the men that fought and died in those battles don't matter to you anymore than it mattered to those MEN in power??

I'm not blaming women for the wars. I'm blaming women for dumping on those men who were on the front lines - who were victimized by those wars.

reply

reply

what the hell are you smoking Luke? Do you think youre a real man talking the way you do,blaming women for everything especially wars and denying women were ever oppressed? Are you insane? You could never be a real man with your attitude and lack of intelligence.

reply

Nice shaming language, but it doesn't change how right I am. The fact that you exonerate all women as the ultimate victims and all men as the only thing victimizing them shows how sexist and ignorant people like you are. The fact that you don't understand how the natural world works, how hard life was for both sexes, why it was so important for men to lead in a world that was so harsh that women in mass were paralyzed by it... it happens, shows that feminists like you are total idiots.

As far as women being paralyzed by the harshest conditions, ever hear of the "Freeze, Flight or Fight" response?? Any one of those three responses is how most humans psychologically react to trauma. And the right conditions in the natural world can be just as traumatic as a school shooting. Most women will freeze or flee. Most of the time, men fight until the danger has been subdued. If the danger can't be fought, men will flee but he will still think of his mate who has frozen up and lead her out of danger. This does not make men or women better than the other. BUT men are still going above and beyond for the sake of his woman. That should be respected, loved and admired by her no differently than he respects, loves and admires her for giving birth.

reply

You could never be a real man with your attitude and lack of intelligence.

Know your role.

Exactly. But that's not enough for these women. They want to constantly butt heads with men instead. They don't realize that they won't win.

Who kept women out of the military?

It would seem that the feminists and Suffragettes were shaming young men into volunteering to die on the foreign battlefields of WW1 without volunteering themselves or even fighting for the right to volunteer.
Women never wanted to fight for the countries or their freedom. They'd rather have men do it for them.

I don't know where you are from or how old you are but my family were bombed out and my grandmother and her children were sent to live in the country with a complete stranger who incidentally was a miserable old farmer who withheld food from them and even hit my aunt and uncles. The whole country was also on food rationing. So no they weren't sitting comfortably at home.

reply

Your post is the epitome of black and white simple mindedness.

You make no specific mention of what is propaganda in the film. Certainly, there were and are many different groups of people disenfranchised. The film does not address every single way people had and have been disenfranchised. It addresses this specifically related to women's struggle to secure this right.

The real question is what are you actually critiquing in the film?

Mostly, it just appears you are ranting in some mode of denial.

reply

Considering how much of a victim complex feminists have I'm surprised we don't see movies like this coming out every day. I mean we see it in the news, journalism, colleges, TV, law, government, and daily life all the time. I guess they are going for a less subtle approach now considering how much ground they have been losing of late.

reply

Exactly. It is a victim complex and the real problem is how much they're poisoned the minds of most other women with this crap. They don't inspire love and responsibility. They inspire selfishness and cowardliness in women. As much as they say that their goal is to empower women, at the end of the day, their BS only serves to weaken women. The toughest, most self-sufficient tomboys got most of their strength from following the example lead by men. If women are inspired to hate, fear or ignore boys altogether, how tough can they be? It takes selflessness and responsibility to actually love someone else, because that requires putting that person before yourself. All we hear from feminists is "Me, me, me," "My hardships," "My wants and desires," "What you did to me," "What you owe me," "What makes me feel happy and comfortable," etc.

reply

Yeah I had noticed the ironic nature of feminism as well. It preaches gender equality while only furthering the divide. An it turns girls who might have become women into whiny and fearful children. By creating imaginary boogieMEN they keep girls in a state of fear. It is terrorism in the plainest sense of the word. Forcing terror into girls in order to further a political agenda. The degree of hypocrisy is so very ridiculous. Now most women live in constant fear either resorting to violence against men without cause or living sheltered lives avoiding any meaningful interaction. The easiest manner in which to describe feminists would simply be sexist terrorists filled with hypocrisy and hate.

reply

EXACTLY. Thank you. I wish I could hug you. Logical people need to stick together when the world is infested with so much chaotic selfishness and ignorance.

reply

The movie didn't lie about anything it told the story of female suffrage. The film about male suffrage can still be made. So it wasn't actually a lie at all like you claim, as both of these things happened in history.

reply

___________
But men don't have an agenda and need to complain as much about something that is no longer relevant, or even that interesting or important. This film appears to be nothing but feminist rousing propaganda. What is the message of the film? What sharp, observing and inciteful points is it making about how heroic they were, in showing that men were just as suppressed as women and needed rights, privileges and equality too? This was a class struggle, something that men fell under too and these feminists\women have made it all appear to be about them, as a lowly and shackled gender. How awful men were to these poor "victims".

What is relevant and important, is that these women were more concerned about hard done by and put up by men they were for not having the vote. That they also allowed the males in their lives, to be sacrificed in pointless wars. What were they doing to protest about this? These men who fought for women and their countries, were under oppression by world leaders and governments and not to mention overbearing women in their lives, who "used" them. And the men are still not complaining so much as women.

reply

What are you talking about? I'm a male. Don't you know? I've had a plan since I was able to hold crayons. I drew up my evil plans to enslave women before I was out diapers. Weren't you drawing up specs and diagrams on women and how to oppress women?? What kind of baby boy were you?? :-/

reply

Seriously though, I'm waiting for them to start whining that our low voices are patriarchal and oppressive. So, they'll be trying to push manginas to raise the tone of male voices so that it's more "human".

reply

I've already seen feminist articles saying that beards are an "oppressive display of male dominance", and that any good "male ally" should stay clean-shaven at all times. I actually wouldn't be surprised at all if they went after deep voices at some point.

You know feminists in Sweden tried to pass an ordinance making it illegal for men to pee standing up, right?

Why can't you wretched prey creatures understand that the Universe doesn't owe you anything!?

Ummmm sure, or I could just lift the seat like I've been doing my entire life.

Do you piss with the seat down or something? If so, you're doing it wrong.

reply

Well that's fine too...but at night? It's easier just to sit down & leave the lights off...no sense wrecking your night vision.

Why can't you wretched prey creatures understand that the Universe doesn't owe you anything!?

reply

Easier? Never once, at any point in my life, have I ever found it difficult to get up and take a leak in the middle of the night.

Anyway, by all means sit down and tinkle if you want to. Just don't try to pass laws telling me how I'm allowed to pee.

reply

Wouldn't dream about telling people what to do with their urination habits.

Why can't you wretched prey creatures understand that the Universe doesn't owe you anything!?

reply

Good deal. Unfortunately though, feminists do dream of it. Then they try and enforce it. Aaaaaand then they wonder why people don't like feminists.

reply

Hassle a man on his throne?!

Outrageous!

Why can't you wretched prey creatures understand that the Universe doesn't owe you anything!?

reply

We're not talking about hassling here. We're talking about LAWS being passed to govern the way men pee. You don't see a fundamental problem with that??

I think exactly the same!!
