I have the feeling I have seen this film before (spoilers).

Is it just me, or does Creed seem to have recycled the plot of Rocky. Apart from the fact that Adonis is the son of the former champion, all other details seem to match. Down on his luck boxer whom nobody has confidence in, takes on an over the hill coach who turns him down at first, finds a girlfriend and it turns into love. Then entirely random the boxing champion losses his opponent and decides to go with the, "let's fight a big nobody" vibe. Adonis takes it seriously, trains like his life depends on this, gives the champ a run for his money, then just barely loses in points. Sounds like Rocky to me.

This was a good continuation of the series....boxing, in general, has plenty of down on his luck stories and yes, Creed and Rocky I have similarities....if Creed II is any indication, the series may fall because something in the drama and storytelling is missing....

Creed is to Rocky, what the Force Awakens is to A New Hope, what Jurassic World is to Jurassic Park, what the Matrix 4 is to the Matrix........

These soft reboots masquerading as sequels/spinoffs take the same basic beats of the original movie and change just enough to where you think you're getting something new and fresh but it's just a rehash. It's basically plagiarism. However, everyone seems to love this one. To me it's mediocre at best. I like Michael B jordan as an actor, but I don't connect with his character here at all. Stallone is the saving grace of this film

Only similarity I see between Creed and Rocky are both have to do with boxing. Are you claiming now that every boxing movie out there is a rehash of Rocky?

Ok millsey72 clearly you don't understand analogies and what they mean so I shall reiterate for you.

Creed is to Rocky, I repeat Creed is to Rocky what Jurassic World is to Jurassic Park. I'll let you figure out the rest. If you can't then the conversation is over.

Am I claiming every boxing movie......? No you're attempting to put words into my mouth and failing miserably

Ok I think I get what you are saying. The dinosaurs fighting each other in the Jurassic Park movies is similar to the way boxers fight each other in the Rocky/creed movies

The vast majority who rave about this one probably never saw Rocky. Rocky had a quirky sense of humor to it while this one is just a bland rehash without the charme of the original. 7.6 my ass!
