Better Actress for Olivia/The Grandmother

I was rewatching Gilmore Girls for more times than I care to mention when I noticed an actress who played Richard's mother, Trix. I couldn't help but see her as Olivia - here's two photos: http://imgur.com/JoKDovC and http://imgur.com/1mWh2pP. The actress' name is Marion Ross.

I think Ellen Burstyn did a great job as the grandmother.

I agree. Ellen Burstyn did her job admirably. The grandmother is the plum character in this story. Louise Fletcher was very good as the grandmother in the 1987 version too.
