This movie was one of the more strange ones I've seen in a while.
I think your post begs the question, was he even in a right state of mind since he was out there to commit suicide. Who knows, maybe he wanted one last taste of his mother's rice krispy treats, get drunk, remember better times, and then take a big gulp of nitro and bleach and pass out. Goodbye problems, goodbye world.

People don't want to be dead. They simply want the pain to STOP. It's sad how few are aware of this truth.
