I caught the Call of Duty & Battlefield easter eggs, any others?
any other first person shooter references in the movie?
shareany other first person shooter references in the movie?
shareI got a Mirror's Edge and F.E.A.R vibe from this as well.
F.E.A.R because of the slow motion and eventually fighting super soldiers.
Mirror's Edge with the parkour.
Final boss type stuff as well, with the hopping up bodies to reach him.
Assuming Direct Control
The whole movie seemed like a video game, from start to finish, in a way which I enjoyed immensely.
shareFar Cry 3.. the way the villain appears from nowhere, walks around in a similar way
shareAssassin's Creed when he was climbing the building. Mirror's Edge is all the other parkour stuff, especially at the end with the helicopter. That was straight out of Mirror's Edge. When he got his mission waypoints, it kinda reminded me of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
shareStrip club = duke nukem

Stupid people make me angry.
It even had an escort /protect mission with the elevator scene.
shareTo me the main villain had elements of early MGS with his white hair and supernatural powers.
Small moves Ellie, small moves
Max Payne and many other shoot em up's for the big boss building/tower in the final showdown. that really made me laugh esp when Jimmy went "Akan is a *beep*" all the time i was wincing he'd alert the guards and get shot but when nothing happened i realized that's something most players would have wanted to do in games lol.
Jimmy in the ghillie suit is so a Call Of Duty Modern Warfare level.
Mirror's Edge most definitely in the parkour bits, they even have the cross the beam balance bit.
the visit to the strip club is also very FPS-y, like something you'd get from a cutscene.
they even managed to squeeze in those token car chase scenes with people shooting at you.
