Accurate Box Office?

After Kirk Cameron's "Monumental" came out, both he and Fathom Events claimed the movie made $1.23 million on its opening night... in actuality, it made $28K, and only $177K in its whole theatrical run.

Consequently, I'm very suspicious of the claims that "Unstoppable" made $2 million on opening night on 700 screens. That would mean there were over 200 viewers in EVERY theater showing this movie opening night.

Can anybody provide links to accurate box office numbers? It's been a couple of months now and BoxOfficeMojo doesn't have the numbers, so it seems like they might not.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I am also curious about that. Evidently, it had a second showing in early October and did quite well again.

Nashville, TN: – October 4, 2013 –In theaters for only two weeknights (Sept 24th and Oct 3th), UNSTOPPABLE: A Live Event with Kirk Cameron sold more than 260,000 tickets and reached a theatrical gross of over $3.2 million dollars. In just two nights this independent project sent a loud message – audiences want thought-provoking and meaningful entertainment. For the most recent performance, on Thursday October 3rd, the film was the overall No.3 in box office, with only one showing in most theaters.

More than 150,000 tickets were sold to the event on Sept. 24 in more than 700 select movie theaters across the country through NCM Fathom Events. An impressive 102,000 tickets were sold to the second showing of “UNSTOPPABLE” on Oct. 3 in nearly 670 theaters.
