Is there a DVD of this series, with English captions and available in North America?
Also, the imdb entry says the language of the film is Hebrew, but the episodes I watched sounded like Yiddish? Are you sure it's Hebrew, or just assumed that because it's from Israel?

It has alot of Yiddish and at times its in Hebrew. Hence the subs were always in Hebrew for those that dont understand Yiddish.
You can buy the existing series from http://www.israel-music.com/various/shtisel_complete_1_2_seasons/ but beware I believe its in PAL format only, so your player will need to be able to play PAL and not just NTSC.
I believe the DVD has English subs but cant vouch that personally as yet. I have ordered from above link and awaiting delivery.
