Perhaps I don't recall from S02E01 when Nochem was introduced with his daughter Libi, but aside from the fact that he needed to move to Antwerp due to business failures in Jerusalem, were we told anything about Libi's mother and where she is now?

I think there's a thematic explanation here. Nachum's absent wife is like the two "extra" Shulem children we never meet, marginalized because they command no attention from their husband/father respectively. Like Hanina's father, whom we also never meet, absent parents also suggest the theme of parents Missing in Action, which at the opposite end of Shulem's destructive suppression would include Esti Gottleb's fawning father. Nachum is as compulsive liar as Shulem but at least a more supportive father.
