Sudbury!!!!

I mean, it's not like anyone goes to Sudbury on purpose. 

Well....my brother did. He went to Laurentian. Before he went there, I graduated from Nipissing, which was once affiliated with Laurentian. Nipissing is about 90 minutes east in North Bay.
In fact, I am the first person from my hometown to receive a degree solely from Nipissing University.

It was inviting to see some of the sights of Sudbury....primarily the Big Nickel. 

Finally, Alex Trebek made an appearance! I make the joke that I am related to him....somewhat. I billeted with a family while I was at Nipissing. Since I practically knew every family member on both my landlady's side AND her boyfriend's side, I was pretty much considered a family member.
It was revealed that on my landlady's side, she is a distant relative of Alex Trebek.

All of this appeals to my perverse sense of humour: Sometimes, life bites...

It's pretty clear that Sudbury, and some of its major constituents -- the Science Centre, Laurentian, Vale -- made a concerted, and I'd say effective, effort present all that Sudbury has to offer in a favourable light. Including the development of the commercial hosted by Jon Montgomery and requisite purchase of time.

Then, less than 12 hours after all that positive vibe, the first thing I hear on the clock-radio is "cloud of yellow toxic gas released from Vale, Level 3 emergency, neighbourhoods closed..."

I have to think that someone in the Business Development or Tourism department has been going "eff-eff-effity-eff" today...

Apparently, dogs are wolves with Williams-Beuren Syndrome.
