Not leaving Canada would be too easy

I know it's a pretty hotly debated topic about The Amazing Race Canada leaving Canada for many legs of the race.

But haven't you noticed that some of the biggest challenges the racers face isn't the physical/strength aspect...but rather the language/geography barriers?

I mean, I've travelled over a lot of Canada and worked in nearly every province and territory. I'm more familiar with some, no doubt, but at the end of the day it's not a difficult country to navigate.

Not like hailing a cab in Nanaimo is a lot harder than in High River. Finding my way from the Bay of Fundy to Peggy's Cove isn't a mind bender.

Canada is an amazing country. But I think keeping the race entirely in our own backyard eliminates a lot of what is awesome about the Amazing Race as a whole.

I think there's a good balance now. There are still some legs in Canada but also some abroad. I do think that seeing other cultures and parts of the world and how the racers deal with and react to it is part of the fun.

ARC2 was much better then this season on this aspect.

Going to Hong Kong, Normandy, and Juno Beach was much better then watching them stumble around Argentina and India - two places that have very little to do with Canada.

Oh behold the warrior who does not respect his enemy - Sun Tzu

This is true. There definitely need to be the right balance of the two.

Generally speaking, I would rather see them both in and out of Canada, than in Canada the entire time. We're already on season 3. I can't imagine a 100% Canadian Amazing Race still being quite the same.

Heck, even the jet lag would be a killer. I live on the west coast and have worked on the east coast. That 4 hour time change sucks, but it's manageable. I don't even want to think of what it would be like to have to function 1/2 way around the world.
