Made it interesting, that's for sure.....

After Gino/Jesse and Nick/Matt nailed the 'high wire' bike act in one go, they were neck and neck.
Brent/Sean...it took them 20 or 21 tries. But, they finally did it.

I initially thought, "They (Brent/Sean) are done. NO WAY they're coming back now".

WELL......

At the one mental challenge, they had to figure out how far they had travelled between points on the whole race. They were given the mileage, and had to figure it out in kilometres (multiply it by 1.6).
The correct answer was 48500 kms, but if the teams come within 5% (2425 kms) of that, they figured that was close enough.

Nick/Matt left first, and made sure they wiped their board clean so that Gino/Jesse couldn't cheat off of them.
When Gino/Jesse got their next clue, one of them hesitated to clean their board. The other one said, "Don't worry about it."

Big mistake.

Brent/Sean showed up, and found Gino/Jesse's calculations still on their board. They were able to make out their final calculation.
So, Brent/Sean wrote down the number on their board. It was something to the effect of 48900. Nothing to lose.
They were within 5%, so they were correct...not even a couple of minutes after arriving at the challenge.

We had a race again!

However, Gino and Jesse, the brothers from Hamilton, Ontario, finished first in the leg, and won the 3rd season of The Amazing Race Canada.

Congrats to Gino and Jesse! 

Yeah they were still too far behind even with that stroke of luck and there wasn't enough after that to slow down the other teams. The ski thing was kinda lame and the jump was just a formality. It's the opposite order I would have liked but still, good game.... except for the cab stuff which popped up again.

I definitely think the mental challenge should be the last task as well. Especially since the last task (the skis) took the least amount of skill...it was basically luck.

Brent/Sean started in 1st and were last to leave the biking. Nick/Matt got a solid lead on the map challenge. Then the stupid ski challenge sunk them. I read an interview with Nick were he said they weren't happy with the setup since a monkey could find a ski eventually. It's so true.

Would have been nice to have had the maps last as a culmination of the whole race.
