How is it that Frankie and Amy used 4 1/2 CUPS of vinegar instead of 4 1/2 TBSP when making the taffy and they still got their clue? I mean, it was burning Amy's eyes when it was boiling because of all that vinegar so the final result must've tasted terrible. It didn't make sense.

Well, luckily it wasn't a taste test. Looks like they just had to get the right weight and colour.

Pretty much. It did cost them time as it took a lot longer for theirs to boil off that huge amount of vinegar. They're lucky they could still get the right feel and color with that blunder.
