So what happened to the brothers?

Did I miss something at the end? When she went back to her father's, the 2 bad brothers weren't around, right? Did they say what happened to them? (I don't know the Bible well so I don't know what the Bible says happened)

I don't think it was said in the show, but they went on to found their own tribes. Their father made them live in separate areas so they wouldn't get up to killing people together again.

Thanks!

In the book, the mean older brothers were still around when Dinah returned to say goodbye to her dying father.

I was confused about their disappearance in the movie.

Oh yeah? So how did they treat that in the book? Sounds like I need to add this book to my "must read" list due to what I've read on this forum.

Each of them founded one of the Twelve tribes of Israel.

Thats what I'm saying! Part 1 wasted too much time on the origins of the family rather than telling the story of the "now." There really wasnt too much resolution. There either should have been a Part 3 or Part 1 should have spent less time on the origins.

I understand what you're saying. I think many of the changes were made to fit a complex, detailed book into the two night, mini-series format. Even though I may not like the edits, I get why they had to happen.

I hope to see this one some day. I missed it when it was on TV. Maybe one of the Christian channels will show it. As for what happened to Simeon and Levi, after the incident at Shechem, Jacob removed them from the position of being the eldest son. He had already removed Reuben for seducing one of his concubines and after removing Simeon and Levi, the next son to inherit place of honor was Judah.
