Okay, so what did I miss?

Forgot about the finale being on the next night (and not next week). Stumbled upon it at the half-way point, where J&N were crying over their message from home. Seen everything after that.

Being as brief, or as detailed, as anybody cares to be, what did I miss in that first half hour? How did they get rid of the annoying Red Team?

reply

Green team was the "randomly" selected hunt team. They had to catch both teams in order to guarantee their being in the final. Caught Teal pretty easily. Caught red with 3 seconds left in the hunt. The show did some silly smoke covering the forest thing to try and make it more dramatic.

Not a fan of the final "hunt". I was hoping for maybe something where they bring back all the teams. The 2 remaining teams are the hunters and see who can catch the most. Teal had no chance in the final so it was extremely anti-climactic!

So they didn't do anything different when it was down to three teams.

And Green had the only vote to cast, and voted out Red, the stronger competitor.

I'm assuming it went down like that. Then I didn't miss much, did I?

reply

Correct. They kept the game the same. Which when down to 3 made little sense. Because you are right, Green then got to hand select who they "played" in the final. The only thing that was remotely interesting (If we can believe that it happened like that) was that it was looking like green was done. They had not caught red which meant that red would've had the vote and obviously would have ousted green. Green "spots" red with about :15 to go and then catches them @ :03 to go.

i reckon that timer is fake.

just to make it more interesting/entertaining to watch..

According to the disclaimer during the end credits, events happen in different sequences and timing to what is shown.

I mean it's kind of cheesy that 90% of the hunts ended in the last hour with most of those ending in the last 5 minutes and the last one with "3 seconds" on the clock.

Clearly the timer was fake, but saying the events happen in different sequence means perhaps the red team was actually caught FIRST (rather than with 3 seconds left), and teal team was caught SECOND, if the producers thought it would be more dramatic to keep the homos longer.

Also the selection of hunt teams was hardly random. At the start of the episode male-male teams were selected 6 times, male-female teams twice and female-female teams twice. Even though there were 4 of each type of team at the beginning.

And female-female teams only made 2 captures the entire season and never caught a male-male team.
