Best Marvel One-Shot yet!

Well, at least I think it is. This one had everything - action, humor, suspense, creative direction, topnotch acting, and fun tie-ins to the greater Marvel movie universe. I would love to see this be the basis for the next Marvel TV series, or even a movie of its own.

My opinion of the One-Shots listed in order of preference:

1 Agent Carter
2 A Funny Thing Happened on the way to Thor's Hammer
3 Item 47
4 The Consultant

What do you think?

You mean putting "funny thing" ahead of "Item 47"? Because Item 47 made no sense. It was well-made and well-acted, but the story was really not good IMO. First, it started with an amazingly blatant "Pulp Fiction" riff, then went on to show criminals with NO socially redeeming values (Spoiler!) being recruited to Shield. Not slightly shady geniuses with hearts of gold who could be set straight, but hardened criminal bank robbers. Remember she was trying to *kill* Sitwell to make their escape.

So because the story was total nonsense, I bumped it to #3. But your mileage may vary! Also, I just really liked Coulson in "Funny Thing". He's a great character.

But I agree, they've stepped it up and I can't wait to see what comes next!

I think it was a great film showing Peggy's frustration with working in a company that did not appreciate woman while dealing with the loss of Steve Rogers.

Wow, time for some meds there, dvts. If someone disagreeing with you on whether a short film is great or merely good gets you this angry, I can't imagine how unglued you would come if someone differed with you on something actually important. Grow up and calm down or no one will every talk to you.

And just to correct you one one thing out of many: watch the beginning of Pulp Fiction again. Young couple having a conversation that could be about anything, then it turns out they were getting ready to do a robbery. It's a Tarantino riff. That scene was not in Bonnie and Clyde.

Yeah! YOU would NEVER get recruited to SHIELD. Because it is not real. You will also never get a letter from Hogwarts.

Damn - you're right! Now I'm REALLY depressed. :(

In light of the Sitwell-HYDRA reveal their recruitment and placement into SHIELD really falls into place.

Isn't that weird!! HAIL HYDRA!!
I approve this message!

All Hail THE King was damn good too.

Let's hope we get a Winter Soldier mission as the next one.

i tried to resist, but i am one of winter's children now. so i would love a winter soldier one-shot.

i really wanted this to be my favourite, but the rather heavy handed portrayal of sexism put me off a bit.

initially i wondered why howard put her in a office job rather than have her head up shield from the start, but i guess he was waiting for her to process her grief. once she took some initiative, then he knew she was ready.

my favourite one shot so far is agent coulson's.
