Difficult to care

The characters lack depth, as if a single character trait was decided upon and needs to drive their every action. The idea to use mo-capped actors, an interesting one, seems to not be to the benefit of the show. Most of the characters are stiff, generic, and lack anything beyond basic detail. This is a trend that applies to all the other art in the show. Backgrounds are bland, if existent, and are devoid of any sign of effort. Battle scenes are interesting, but short lived, and do not carry the show. Voice acting is extremely sub-par which is disappointing because past Rooster Teeth projects have such awesome voice casts. The overarching plot lacks discernible trajectory, and seems to go nowhere after several episodes. This seems like a very low budget, uninspired project used as weeaboo bait that lacks charm, originality, personality, and sign of effort. Seems to be mostly written to appeal to a tween market. Very disappointed in Rooster Teeth on this one.

The fact that you use the word weeaboo in your review suggests just the kind of fan of...well, anything, but namely anime, that you are. And not one I'd be interesting in sitting through anything with.

I sadly agree with sonicgeek, but Weeaboo attraction? Nah... I son't think RoosterTeeth would do that. They seem like a company who genuinely care for their work. However back to subject, all his points are valid in my opinion. i find it mindless to repeat him but I agree. One thing I will say is that the Rooster Teeth guys aren't some big shot company who can pour money into a first season. For a first season it was passable and I don't regret watching it.

What a sourpuss attitude to have for such a beautifully done show!
