Equality

Hearing her story makes me want to shake the people in our country who complain about "inequality" or drop out of school. In many countries, women aren't allowed to drive, to be educated, to show their face, to work, etc. Many are sold into sexual slavery. The government doesn't give their people handouts or health care. You aren't given awards for transitioning to a woman or being gay, you get shot and killed. Women are raped on their wedding days and have to wear clothes that cover the entire body. I'm not saying we are perfect, but Malala's bravery and story makes us look like whiners. We don't know what real persecution is. We don't know what it's like to have to fear death because of our race or gender. We don't know what it's like to not be able to live in our home country or not see our friends or be separated for family because we disagree with our government. Malala is a hero. I hope we can follow her lead.

You can start helping by staying away from religion especially Abrahamic religions. Teach your children science and hope for the best.

The dumbest? How did you come to this conclusion? Or you are just regurgitating the popular fallacy?

Check any educational statistic. All statistic on the matter is total BS

You don't know anything about Pakistan and this malala drama so please don't share your intensely stupid views.

reply

And you please don't claim to speak for all Pakistanis. You should be ashamed of yourself for speaking like that about a girl from your own country. A girl who has suffered so much.

P.S. I am a Pakistani and I adore her.

reply

But as you said, the system is quite imperfect. Because we have more doesn't mean we should be content with ourselves. The inequalities here are not on par with the inequalities over there, true. But that does not mean we shouldn't try to get more equality over here.

raakh89 certainly wasn't first in line when they handed out braincells, that's for sure.

reply

I would regard not having to work as a privilege. The more western women have gone into the workplace, the less happy they have become.

reply

Yes they were so happy back then, just like black people were happier back when they were still slaves. It was easier back then, you know.

reply

"We don't know what it's like to fear death because of our race?"

Have you been living under a rock or something, unless your "we" refers to whites only.

reply

She claims that women are stronger than men. That's not equality.

reply

I don't think she meant "physically strong". stronger in a sense that women have gone throu alot.

reply

I'm aware of what she meant. Saying either gender is superior to the other in any way is the opposite of equality.

reply

not superior, she said women are more powerful than men. that's a huge different. one can be stronger or powerful then the other. In the eyes of the law and culture, we should be treated equal. Nothing wrong with what she said.

reply

*difference

And yes, there are many things wrong with what she said. If that was said from a male about men, he would be condemned as an ignorant sexist. But if a woman says it, she's a "powerful feminist". I'm aware that women suffer more than men do, but that doesn't make them more powerful. They obviously aren't, or they wouldn't still be suffering. Neither gender is more powerful than the other.

reply

Too much PC if you ask me. She should have said women are more powerful than men in some aspect. sometimes this world is too damn politically correct. this is why comedians aren't performing at college university anymore. Every criticism has to be equal. sick and tired of it. If i were to comment about what malala said, I'd say men are more powerful than women, but pc police would complain about it. In the end of the day, it's her opinion. One has to understand her intention of elevating women status in the muslim world. we have "black lives matter" in the US, but with intention of elevating lives of black people. what's in the bottom needs to be lifted and highlighted

reply

Women are pretty dang powerful; however, in the U.S., they are pretty darn full of themselves as well. The reason I say this is because biologically, they deal with a lot. They actually have more pain tolerance and have to bear the young (yeah I know..very tangential). I would suspect that if women did not have their monthly, they actually would be pretty near equal to men. The monthly is responsible for iron and nutrient loss, for which, if their bodies could contain; they probably would be stronger. In fact, it has been proven that within the first seven years of life, females are actually stronger. At birth, more females survive than males. I would not discount it.

She is not a hero and you do not know the first thing about our culture/religion so please do not talk about it.

reply

Know nothing about ur culture? We know ur culture treats women like crap. She IS a hero. She's fighting for everyone to have education especially girls. But ur culture would rather women be slaves, controlled by men and treated worse Than animals. No woman deserves that. Every woman should have the right to do what she wants, think how she wants, dress how she wants and everything else. Without women men would be nothing. In the words of Malala herself "honour your daughtets, they are honourable."

Ur culture is backwards, women are equal to men in 2015. Every woman deserves education and to build a better life for themselves

reply

Have you ever visited Pakistan? If you had than you would have known that in most of the parts(excepts some tribal areas) women are treated equally and are getting equal education. Then again like I said in the previous comment that if you don't know about it than it would be better if you don't talk about it.

Why don't you stop trying to tell people what they should or should not talk about. We are free in our country to discuss whatever we like and you have no power to stop that. If you don't like it then don't read it. And after you stop reading it then by all means feel free to go ram a stick up your own ass.
