Pen is not even dry on the divorce

Totally unrealistic that a man would look for a life partner before divorce is final. If he does, the odds are , it won't work.

No, if you watch the extras on the DVD they tell you the lawyers used quick-drying ink so it was in fact dry even before they left the lawyer's office.

Sometimes I think we're alone in the universe, and sometimes not.

I work in family law and I can tell you nothing surprises me anymore. So yes it totally does happen.

I don't doubt that it happens; But my guess is that a rebound relationship will falter.

Hey keeps me in business ;-)

When I was married to a Londoner, British law decreed that it took a full year of separation before the divorce papers could even be filed. Who knows how long this couple has been apart?

reply

They said in the movie they had been separated a year. I think the wife said something along he lines of it has been a year and he should be less angry by now (when they met in the bar).

People always think you can be together and divorced a day later. No, in the US as well it can take a year or more after splitting to be legally divorced. If there are any debates over assets then it can take longer.
