Because if they did, they didn't succeed. It was a very bad taste.

The previews looked funny. ...I still haven't seen it

Dont listen to the op mrskunt,if youve seen the previews or trailers and liked them youre in for a treat,the film is hilarious!

I think you mean "in very bad taste." If you're going to speak in overused cliches, at least get them right. And no, it was not in poor taste. If anything you can see the beauty of humanity in seeing everyone trying to protect Billy. You have to be too uptight to not laugh at anything presented.
