Um......CAIRO TIME MUCH

Patricia Clarkson did pretty much the same film already. CAIRO TIME has basically the same premise. So we have swapped pyramids for India.

Not sure what you mean. Learning to Drive doesn't take place in India, but New York.

Ben Kingsley was born in Yorkshire, England, and has an Indian father. he also played Gandhi and that movie was made in India. I guess some people remember nothing else about the man.

The commenter probably hasn't seen the movie yet.

In Cairo time, Clarkson did not create her own mess, but rather her husband was the absent one due to his work obligations. Despite this difference, there certainly were similarities in the plot.

I've seen both films and there are very few similarities, except that Patricia Clarkson stars in both. Actually the only similarity is a friendship between a man and a woman of different nationalities. In Cairo Time there is more of a romance between the two. Also, the woman is in a foreign country, more or less on holiday while her diplomat husband is called away to work so she spends time with her guide.

Learning to Drive is about a newly separated woman trying to rebuild her life. She decides to take driving lessons and becomes friendly with her Sikh driving instructor. There is no romance between them. The story also reflects on immigrants and their experiences and is set in N.Y.

And all the pieces matter (The Wire)

I believe that he wanted a bit of romance there at the end but she told him no.

In Cairo Time Clarkson played a wife who lived in England and came to Cairo on vacation to get together with her husband. They loved each other but he was stuck trying to resolve another of the endless conflicts between Israel and the Palestinians.

The only similarity in her roles is that she played a professional woman who was also a wife.
